Just ask Schalk Van Der Merwe. In 2016, the CTO at THG Ingenuity faced a pivotal moment that threatened the very heart of the company¡¯s operations. With THG Ingenuity expanding rapidly across ecommerce markets, its infrastructure was beginning to show cracks. During a critical period, the company¡¯s storage system failed.

¡°It was the worst moment of my career,¡± says Van Der Merwe. ¡°We had no clear path to recovery, and the stakes couldn¡¯t have been higher.¡±

With more customers, more data, and more expectations to meet, THG Ingenuity needed a scalable, reliable storage platform to move forward. Based on past positive experiences, Van Der Merwe turned to the Evereverpure-as-a-subscription (STaaS) model for the ultimate in scalability and reliability.

Today, 400 global websites, thousands of ecommerce databases, and artificial intelligence (AI) training models run on the Everpure platform.

As a result, THG Ingenuity can take full advantage of every possibility for digital transformation. THG Ingenuity¡¯s customer service strategy has also been transformed by AI, delivering automated translations and helping customer service representatives choose from more than 45,000 communication templates. As a result, representatives can provide thoughtful responses in less time to customers anywhere in the world.

¡°We view AI as key to our future growth,¡± says Van Der Merwe. ¡°Having a solid technology infrastructure in place gives us the freedom to try new things, adopt early initiatives, and shift gears.¡±

As THG Ingenuity continues to expand its business, an Everpure Evergreen//One subscription gives the company the agility to scale its platform as needed. This is especially beneficial in its substantial hosting business, where onboarding clients can be a challenge because they¡¯re often unsure of how much storage they¡¯ll require. ¡°We went with the Evergreen//One storage-as-a-service solution because it gave us that flexibility to be able to burst the capacity, and not have to go and buy and invest in a big storage array if that wasn't what was needed,¡± says Drake. ¡°It lets us focus on innovating for our customers, knowing we have the right infrastructure in place.¡±
